The Barges was once a floating jetty at Grande Island. When no longer needed, it was simply pulled off the shore and sunk.

Lying from only 4 metres to 15 metres on the shelf, and 34 metres over the drop, this dive site offers all skill levels something. The float sections of the jetty were joined together with a 20cm (9 inch) gap between, offering a home to an absolute abundance and variety of marine life. Photographers will revel in the variety of subject matter here, including rays, barracuda, lionfish, scorpionfish, batfish, snapper, sweetlips, pipefish, trumpetfish, and nudibranch.
